EQUANIMITY

A hat with a lit candle levitates over a magnetic field. When the forces of attraction repulsion, attachment and rejection are balanced they manage to elevate us. A lit candle on the crown suggests a permanent state of alert. The verticality and transience of the flame, the consistency and residue of matter and the surprising emptiness of the magnetic field are fine examples of the reconciliation of opposite poles, an image of equanimity.
